Dobinsons 56mm Hydraulic Bump Stop Mount Cans provide the weld-in foundation needed to install Dobinsons threaded-body hydraulic bump stops into a custom suspension setup. These cans are internally threaded to accept the external threaded body of the Dobinsons 2.2″ hydraulic bump stop, allowing the bump stop to be threaded into position and adjusted for proper engagement height.
Hydraulic bump stops are universal by design, which means the final installation depends on the vehicle, suspension layout, available space, and desired up-travel. These weld cans give fabricators the ability to mount the bump stop exactly where it needs to be, whether installed vertically, angled, or incorporated into custom frame plating, bump stop towers, or suspension reinforcement work.
Once welded into place, the threaded can design allows the hydraulic bump stop to be adjusted up or down to fine tune when it contacts the axle, control arm, bump pad, or strike surface. This makes it much easier to dial in usable suspension travel, protect components at full compression, and tune the final stage of bump stop engagement.
Each can is constructed from 3mm wall steel tubing for strength and zinc coated for corrosion resistance prior to installation. Sold as a pair, these are the correct weld-in mount cans for Dobinsons 56mm threaded hydraulic bump stops.

Installation Notes
These mount cans are universal weld-in components and require custom fabrication. Proper installation typically involves welding the can into a reinforced frame structure, bump stop tower, or fabricated mounting plate(s). For best results, the suspension should be fully cycled during installation to confirm bump stop location, strike pad alignment, compressed length, tire clearance, and final up-travel.
Note: Hydraulic bump stops generate significant force at full compression. Do not weld these cans directly to thin or unsupported sheet metal without proper reinforcement. Final mounting strength, alignment, and suspension clearance are the responsibility of the installer.
