Unsure about changing your Ring & Pinion ratio? Consider your truck's use: city driving, flat highways, or mountainous terrain. Generally, 33" tires pair well with 4.56:1 or 4.88:1, 35" tires with 4.88:1 or 5.29:1, and 37" or larger tires with 5.29:1. Bear in mind this depends on your original R&P ratio. For example, some automatics come from the factory with 3.73:1, so the jump to 4.88:1 is quite significant. We carry a 5.71:1 ratio for certain applications, though it is typically not recommended due to its weakness.
