Introducing our Heavy Duty Lower Control Arm (LCA) Frame Brace Kit for 2000–2006 Toyota Tundra & 2000-2007 Toyota Sequoia — Our Newest Kit for the Full Size Toyota Platform!
Designed to be the ultimate cam-tab gusset system for IFS off-roaders, this new kit builds on our proven success with Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, and GX platforms. Now, for the first time, 1st gen Tundra owners can enjoy the same legendary Marlin Crawler frame reinforcement with improvements specifically engineered for the unique Tundra chassis.
Unlike other platforms, the early Tundra frame lacks the provision for an angled front lower brace. To address this, we’ve developed formed lower braces that reduce sharp edges and feature contoured surfaces, helping rocks and objects to glide under the frame rather than catch and cause damage to critical suspension components and alignment hardware.
Crafted from USA-made 3/16″ formed lower double-shear braces and 1/4″ thick cam tab uprights, this kit fortifies all 8 LCA mount flanges with heavy-duty reinforcement plates, quadrupling their wall thickness. Each of the factory cam tabs is fully encompassed, providing unmatched strength and preventing deformation, even under harsh impacts or bottom-outs.
Our design transforms each LCA mount into a double-shear configuration, greatly increasing resistance to flex and stress. We’ve also bridged the gaps between flanges, creating smooth transitions and offering extra protection for your alignment hardware from rocks and trail objects.
Stable alignment is critical, both on the street and deep in the dirt. Our LCA and Cam Tab Frame Brace system has been rigorously tested with up to 40” tires on everything from manuals to automatics, Dual & Triple transfer case builds, and more. It has proven its worth in the harsh environments of Ultra4 and King of the Hammers (KOH) racing.
Installation is simple:
No cutting or drilling is required—just position each Heavy Duty Upright and weld it in place. Suspension removal or alignment adjustment is not necessary for installation, keeping downtime to a minimum. If you already have aftermarket gussets installed, our kit can still be fitted with minor grinding as needed. Compatibility extends to both factory and aftermarket control arms, ensuring full range of motion for your suspension. (Depending on your skid plate design, some modification may be required.)

TECH TIP: Strengthen Cam Tabs Without Removing Control Arms
Thanks to our patented design, the Marlin Crawler HD LCA Frame Brace Kit is the ONLY cam tab strengthening solution that can be installed without removing a single part from your vehicle. Unlike other kits that require removing your lower control arms, drilling 24 spot-welds, & cutting off factory tabs, ours wraps around and reinforces the entire factory setup — giving you up to 2,000% strength increase with zero disassembly.
Here's how one customer did it:
Step 1: Prep the frame — wire brush off grease, grime, and factory paint where you'll be welding.
Step 2: Use anti-spatter spray and a weld blanket to protect sensitive components (CV boots, brake lines, ABS wiring, etc).
Step 3: Wrap water-soaked rags around the LCA bushings to keep them cool.
Step 4: Tack weld parts into position and then weld one edge at a time, rotating around to other up-rights to manage heat. Keep rags saturated before resuming each weld.
Step 5: Once the welds cool (~20 min), spray paint to seal against corrosion — and that's it!
You've just transformed your paper-thin 0.10" (2.6mm) cam tabs into armored uprights nearly 2.0" thick, with no re-alignment needed, no parts removed, and no extra labor costs.
And the benefits go beyond strength:
- Converts single-shear control arm mount to double-shear, strengthening the IFS sub frame and protecting from trail damage
- Adds angled deflection bracing to protect alignment hardware from rock strikes
- Preserves alignment and prevents damage from underbody impacts

The full install method involves removing both lower control arms, giving you better access for full coverage spray painting and maximum corrosion protection. Many customers choose to install our kit now using the quick method above, then revisit the paintwork later during future suspension upgrades.

For 1995-04 Tacomas and 1996-2002 4Runners, it is a bit different due to the frame and skid plate design which prevented us from adding the lower double-shear plating, but the kit is even easier to install as it only involves just the uprights like this:
