It’s common for the factory shift lever ball seat to wear, crumble and disintegrate over time. This often results in a sloppy or loose transmission shifter. The factory seat is soft and is squeezed into position. Therefore it is fragile. And if that wasn’t enough, Toyota placed another soft black rubber insulator under it for an even more squishy shift. We took a different approach.
Instead of squeezing two soft parts into place, we machine a rigid, one-piece Heavy Duty Seat that rotates & drops into position, replacing two parts in one. This allows us to make our seat from firm, extremely long lasting USA-made Delrin. Our new heavy duty seats will far out last the stock setup, greatly reducing shifter slop while feeling just as comfortable as before.
Install Tip: Avoid Common Mistake!
Before installing, be sure to remove both OEM parts:
✔️ The green nylon seat
✔️ The black rubber insulator (spacer)
Your shifter base should be fully exposed aluminum before installing our upgraded solid seat.
Pro tip: Our design intentionally combines the total thickness of both original parts into a single heavy-duty component, ensuring a tight, slop-free shifter feel.

If your transmission is not listed, don’t despair! While we cannot guarantee if our seats will fit other applications, they have been found to fit other applications based on the bore diameter of your transmission’s shifter base: Our Blue seats are designed for a 39mm bore, our Red seats are designed for a 41mm bore, and our White seats are designed for a 42mm bore. If you order a seat and find it doesn’t fit, you will be subject to our restocking fee if returned.
It is highly recommended to use our HD seats in conjunction with our HD Shifter Sockets for maximum performance.

OD and spherical cuts fit perfectly, however part is too thick to allow for reassembly. Removing the OEM spacer underneath is required. I’m not sure what impact that will have but it’s working now. If ift was me I’d modify this design to represent the total thickness of both the OEM spacer and OEM seat in a single piece of plastic. Then instructions could clearly state to discard both OEM parts.

Thank you for the review, Steve — much appreciated! 👌🏽
You’re exactly right: removing the original black rubber insulator and fully exposing the aluminum shift base is Step 1 of our installation instructions.
This is actually the “secret sauce” of our design! Our Heavy Duty shifter seat is intentionally engineered as a single-piece solution that replaces both soft OEM parts — combining the total thickness of the original seat and spacer into one solid, oil-resistant Delrin component. This ensures a tight, precise, and durable shifting experience that really transforms the feel of your shifter.
We’re grateful for your feedback, and we’ll definitely look into improving our instructions to make this even clearer, including better visuals for future customers. Thanks again for helping us improve!
