Now with more beef! New 2″ diameter square tubing w/ 50,000 psi tensile strength (former design was only 1.75″ diameter)
Square tube is better than round for this application because square tube has 2 vertical/up-right surfaces per side directly aligned with the direction of bending forces, providing maximum strength.
Adding a cross tube between the Hammer Hangers® significantly increases rigidity, and reduces stress and flex on the stock crossmember and each frame rail. This increase in rigidity improves ride quality every mile, on and off road, as well as sharpening steering response. A cross tube helps improve load hauling characteristics, and reduce whip in the frame rail. You end up with a more composed and controllable vehicle.
The DIY option only includes bracketry and hardware and requires you to source your own 2.00″ or 1.75″ .120-wall DOM tube and weld together.
Free Shipping to the Lower 48-States: Because Archive Garage is in New York and on the other side of the country from us, we’ve worked out a deal to have them drop-ship direct to you instead of requiring an additional shipment from us. As a result, please consider transit time from the north-east. For example, west coast customers may expect up to 5 days or more for delivery. Click here to view an estimated Transit Time Delivery Map, adding potentially a day or two for Archive Garage to process the order on their end. If there are any delays or stock issues from Archive Garage, then we will let you know, thanks!
Important Note: Adding this Cross Tube requires relocating the spare tire out of the stock location (ie. you’ll need a bed/rack or rear bumper tire mount if you wish to carry a spare).
