F.A.S.S. M.B.S single line application

  • 3/8″ 16,000 pounds
  • 7/16″ 18,000 pounds
  • 1/2″ 26,000 pounds

We offer a variety of sizes and each speed sling has an adjustable length of 7 to 25-feet for maximum flexibility.

The main eye of our F.A.S.S. is spliced the same as all our soft loops with a lock splice that will never slip. We also use a movable High Strength Wear sleeve that can be slid aside for proper and full inspection of the loop.

The other end is unique and comprised of a large loop that’s feed back through the rope body and emerges again after a short Distance to form a tail. Pull on this tail to Shorten while holding gently on the rope where the tail emerges. Once finished smooth out the outer braid with your hand to tighten slightly and while under pressure this constricted area will prevent the rope from slipping. Reverse the process by pulling on the rope that emerges to the adjustable loop side to lengthen. No tools required!

If you need to reach farther use a winch extender, and make sure its rated for what you need to do.

Freedom Recovery Gear Ltd. doesn’t cut any corners while we hand splice each winch rope using proper length end buries and tapers to maintain maximum strength. We also take the time to fully inspect each line while we mechanically tension it so its ready to use when it arrives.

What is Dyneema® SK-78?

Dyneema® SK-78 fiber is currently one of the strongest and most functional rope available for vehicle recovery and winching purposes. The rope used in all Freedom Recovery Gear products is Made in Canada from European sourced fiber – this is the most consistent and reliable Dyneema® fiber currently available anywhere.

Dyneema® SK-78 has many advantages over the standard wire rope (aka galvanized aircraft cable) that is commonly provided by winch manufacturers – light weight, abrasion resistance, low stretch (very little elastic recoil), doesn’t twist (torque) under load, doesn’t have sharp ‘burrs’ that can cut skin and hands when you’re using it.

Being 1/7th the weight of wire rope, it is immediately noticeable when handling the rope, it’s easy to carry and move, it bends and flexes easily, it’s does not absorb water and it floats.

If you have used other brands of synthetic winch lines, soft shackles, or winch extensions, you will really appreciate the quality and attention to detail that Freedom Recovery Gear puts in to their products.

MINIMUM BREAKING STRENGTH (MBS) IS THE MINIMUM FORCE NECESSARY TO CAUSE A PIECE OF RECOVERY GEAR TO FAIL.
Working Load Limit (WLL) is the maximum working load designed by the manufacturer. This load represents a force that is much less than that required to make the lifting equipment fail or yield.
In line with the Cordage Institute Guidelines CI 1401-19 Recommended Safety Practices for use of Fiber rope, we apply a Design Factor (DF) of 5:1 to our Soft Shackles, Winch Lines and Winch Line Extensions.
For Example, a product with a Minimum Break Strength (MBS) of 40,000 lbs would have a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 8,000 lbs.
