We are now offering upper knuckle stud kits to save you time and money. This is a great way to add knuckle parts to your cart with just one mouse click!
These are high quality parts Made In Japan! Please note this kit includes a cone washer which is only used for the steering arm. Therefore, 8 kits are needed per truck.
Studs and other hardware are available individually. More info here.
(1) Knuckle Stud with E12 provision
(1) Knuckle Stud Cone Washer
(1) Knuckle Stud Flat Washer
(1) Knuckle Stud Nut
Important Installation Notes: Knuckle studs can be torqued up to 45 ft-lbs, however this may not be possible due to the condition of your knuckles. The important factor is that pressure is created at the surface between the steering arm and the knuckle (this surface forms a very large area to distribute steering forces and prevent stud shear failure). Therefore, so long as the knuckle studs are in place, the nuts will be able to create this high pressure at this surface.
You should be able to get at least 20 ft-lbs torque on each stud which is sufficient when combined with Loctite. Keep in mind you must have sufficient stud length for the nut to have threads to thread onto, meaning that the very last thread of each stud should not be less than 1.25" away from the surface of the knuckle.
To ensure long life out of each stud, we strongly recommend checking the torque of each nut (71 ft-lbs) every time you change your engine oil.
