It's common for the factory shift lever ball seat to wear, crumble and disintegrate over time. This often results in a sloppy or loose transmission shifter. The factory seat is soft so it can be squeezed into position. We took a different approach, and machined groves into the sides of our heavy duty seats. Instead of squeezing the seat into place, the groves on each side allow ours to rotate into position. This allows us to make our seat from stronger, longer lasting hardened urethane. Our new heavy duty seats will far out last the stock units and will reduce shifter slop. Please state year and model when ordering. Two different sizes, one sizes fits W56A and W56B models, the other fits all other 4wd applications as well as all Toyota Celicas and Supras.
The Red seat is for W56-A and W56-B Toyota transmissions.
The White seat is for most other 1981 and newer common Toyota transmission applications with a direct top-mounted shift level, such as L-, G-, W-, and R-series transmissions with a shift base bolted directly on top of the transmission (will not work with C-, E- or other variants that use cables).
The Blue seat is for the forward shift style transfer case shift handle base of a transmission, such as a G52, G54, W56-C, W56-D, W56-E, R151F, and 1988-95 R150F applications with forward shifting transfer case shift bases.
