It's common for the factory shift lever ball seat to wear, crumble and disintegrate over time. This often results in a sloppy or loose transmission shifter. The factory seat is soft so it can be squeezed into position. We took a different approach, and machined groves into the sides of our heavy duty seats. Instead of squeezing the seat into place, the groves on each side allows ours to rotate into it's final position. This allows us to make our seat from stronger, longer lasting USA-made Delrin. Our new heavy duty seats will far out last the stock units and will reduce shifter slop. Two different sizes, one size fits W56-A and W56-B models, the other fits all other 4WD applications as well as all Toyota Celica's and Supra's.
The Red seat is for W56-A and W56-B Toyota transmissions.
The White seat is for most other 1981 and newer common Toyota transmission applications with a direct top-mounted shift level, such as L-, G-, W-, and R-series transmissions including the new 6-speed RA60 transmission.
It is highly recommended to use our HD seats in conjunction with our HD Shifter Sockets for maximum performance.
The Blue seat is for the forward shift style transfer case shift handle base of a transmission, such as a G52, G54, W56-C, W56-D, W56-E, R151F, and 1988-95 R150F applications with forward shifting transfer case shift bases. It also fits top shifting chain drive transfer case shift bases.

Notes for BLUE seat: The blue seat is installed into the transmission shift base for all forward shifting style transfer cases, or for top shifting chain drive transfer case shift bases. Therefore, because any truck can only have at most one transmission with one forward shift transfer case handle (or one chain drive t/case), you only need to order one Blue shift seat per truck, if applicable. Top shift transfer case shift handles do NOT use shift seats. So if you have a dual, triple, or even quadruple transfer case setup with the front Crawl Box configured as a forward shift, you only need to order one Blue shift seat. |
