This is our Do-It-Yourself Tapered Pitman Arm Insert. It is compatiable with all 1979-95 Toyota Hilux tie rod end ball joints, 1986-95 pitman arm ball joints, and FJ60/80 Land Cruiser tie rod ends.

This insert is used to convert the male end of a 1986-95 IFS pitman arm into a female end to accept 19mm, 21mm, or 23mm tie rod ends commonly found on Toyota truck steering systems.

The outer diameter is contoured to be a direct fit into the 1986-95 IFS pitman arm whose ball joint has been pressed out the back side. All that remains is to weld the insert into place. We recommend Tig welding for this.

In general, this insert may be inserted into a large hole and welded in place, thus converting the joint for use with the common Toyota truck tie rod end.

Non-traditional uses include converting a GM Saginaw pitman arm for use with a Toyota 23mm FJ80 tie rod end.
