W56-A Transmission
With the introduction of fuel injection in 1985
4WD trucks, Toyota also introduced it's new W-Series transmission.
The W56-A was only used in 1985 EFI Toyota Pickups and 4Runners.
W56-A models have an aluminum center plate and a single shifter
(transmission) atop it's rear housing. This transmission is 25 3/8" long
and weighs 85 lbs as pictured. The center of the trans shifter is
21" back from the front edge of the bell housing.
