| Dual Transfercase Setup |
Marlin Crawler was the first to bring dual
transfer cases to the USA and the first in the world to bring low range gear
kits to the Toyota market. As the leader in Toyota transfer cases we build the
best units period. We can give you the low range, slow crawling gears your
looking for.
Installing a dual transfer case into a 4-cyl equipped truck
requires moving your existing t/case back approximately 6.5 inches. The
additional crawl box is installed between the transmission and t/case. All 4-cyl
gear driven t/cases are 21-spline except for the 1986-87 turbo, which is
23-spline. 2.28:1, 4.00:1, or 4.70:1 gears can be used in any combination in the
two t/cases. The most common choice is one set of 2.28:1 gears and one set of
4.70:1 gears, known as a Dual Ultimate Crawler. When
building a transfer case for 4-cyl applications, the stock 21-spline input gear
can be used. When building turbo, V6 & V8 applications, we highly recommend
using a 23-spline input in the rear t/case. Otherwise, failure of a factory
21-spline input gear is certain. Floorboard and drive shaft modifications are
required. The factory crossmember remains in its original position.

MC08 Dual Transfer Case Adapters
This special Billet aluminum adapter is also available in standard
or rotated fashion. The standard version is just like the MC07 above, except it is
made with Billet Aluminum which is much stronger than its Cast counterpart. The
rotated variant rotated the rear transfer case left by10 degrees. This lifts up the
4WD front section so that it is level with the rest of the transfer case. Increases
clearance under case by 1-3/16", and also raises the front driveline which
furthure improves ground clearance and helps prevent driveline damqage. Requires
slight bending of rear shifter.

3.0L V6 Dual Case Setups, 1988-1995
Installing a dual transfer case into your 3.0L V6 truck
can be done in two ways: 1) By using two gear driven transfercases, you can
replace your stock Chain Drive transfercase with a Gear Driven Dual Case
Transfercase. 2) By using one gear drive transfercase low range Crawl Box, a
100% bolt-in Dual Case Unit can be installed between your factory transmission
and factory chain drive transfercase. We have been using the Gear Drive
Transfercases and its components for over ten years and have found them to be
most reliable. We believe that a 1979-95 Gear Drive Transfercase is stronger
than a 1988-95 Chain Drive Transfercase. The biggest problem with the Chain
Drive Transfercase seems to be with its input gear, which we have seen fail.
The Chain Drive Transfercase uses a 2.56:1 planetary gear reduction, which, due
to reliability concerns, we do not offer lower gearing options for. With
this said, a Chain Drive Dual Case setup is limited to the addition of a 2.28:1
(or 4.00, 4.70, 4.97) MC10-R10 Crawl Box. A combined Reduction of 5.84:1 is
standard and a 12:1 is the optional Ultimate setup
using the 4.70:1 ratio (please note that the 4.00 and 4.97:1 gear ratios are generally
not recommended). The Gear Drive Transfercase uses a standard 2.28:1 gear
reduction, and may be swapped for a 4.70:1 (or 4.00/4.97 if desired). When
combined with our Gear Drive Dual Case Unit of 2.28:1, a standard combined
reduction of 5.19:1 is achieved while a 22.09:1 is the
optional Double Ultimate setup
using two sets of 4.70:1 gears, something that is NOT possible in a Chain Drive
Dual Case Setup. Floorboard and drive shaft modifications are required, while
the factory crossmember is retained and remains in its original position. |

| Marlin Crawler VSS
We are now producing our very own Vechicle Speed
Sensor (VSS). This 3-wire, 4-pluse magnetic pulse amplifier will
convert ANY Toyota vehicle with a standard 22x1.50 mechanical
speedometer drive to an electronic speedometer system. Features a
standard Toyota VSS Plug for your convience. The Applications are
unlimited, converting both 4WD and 2WD 22x1.50 mechanical speedometer
setups to electronic 3-wire, 4-pulse speedometer setups. Now
installing a Tacoma Engine into a Hilux or Land Cruiser is a snap!
Works on both Gear and Chain Drive Transfercases!
For 1992-95 V6 Applications, when converting to a Gear Drive
T/Case Setup, the only previous option was to use a 1992-95 Factory
Toyota 4cyl 5-speed Gear Drive T/Case VSS, that sells for $210. The
New Marlin Crawler VSS saves $150 on a 1992-95 V6 Transfercase
Conversion.
